After over 10 years from the extra large screen, Big Red is making a rebound in 2019. Hellboy is getting the reboot treatment – and keeping in mind that fanatics of the Guillermo del Toro movies may be disillusioned that his set of three capper never appeared, another take from chief Neil Marshall and comic maker Mike Mignola guarantees to turn the material back towards its more frightfulness arched roots. Just as inclining toward a R-rating, the main character is getting a gruffer, grittier makeover with Stranger Things’ David Harbor underneath the horns. What’s more, this time, he’s progressively merciless.
“There’s extremely a feeling that you’re really executing things, regardless of whether they are goliaths or beasts,” Harbor tells Empire in the new Ultimate 2019 Preview issue. “You’re slashing their heads off, you’re washing in their blood and you’re feeling the mind boggling sentiments of really removing the core of something else. We’re setting aside the opportunity to manage the way that Hellboy is an executioner. He’s a weapon.”
Here’s an elite picture of Harbor’s Hellboy with Ian McShane as his dad figure Professor ‘Floor brush’ Bruttenholm, recently played in the del Toro films by John Hurt.
